LA win (in regulation) over PIT at home. Impressive
Sens are now 2 pts ahead of 30th. Cheering for the Sens to loose is not a bad thing, then again, if they win a few, not like they'll move up too many spots now |

LA is playing okay and can still move up.
San Jose is still capable of putting in good games and I fear they may go on a season ending winning streak.
Highest Statistical probability is Ottawa will have pick #4 and San Jose #5.
However their combined odds push them up 21% for winning #1 overall and over 60% at getting a top 3 pick.

Crucial game tonight between san jose and new jersey tonight. Devils have been putting some distance between themselves and Ottawa.
Big game between florida and toronto too. |

Dear Mike,
Do you predict that Ottawa will finish higher or lower than 28th next season?

I just hope it doesn't turn into a 3 point game. Go Devils! |

If the Sens go 3rd overall in the draft, and assuming Lafrenière and Byfield go 1st and 2nd, who would you want to pick, and why?
Drysdale, Holtz, Stutzle, Raymond... there's a lot of good guys. Personally, I would want a forward over Drysdale.
(Prediction: Spasto or someone will reply to this with a long-winded dissertation about how Byfield may not go second overall) |

Stutzle, Raymond and Drysdale in that order.
Stutzle and Drysdale were both very impressive in the world juniors and are rated highly in every ranking that I have seen. Lucas Raymond appears in most pundit player rankings that I have seen.
I expect Dorion to completely dedicate his time to scouting until the draft in June. |

Stutzle
I’d put him before Byfield so if he lands third, it’s a win for the Sens |

Yeah. I was VERY high on Raymond for the first half of the season, then my desire switched to Holtz. Now I think I'm starting to lean towards Stutzle.
Dorion doesn't seem to value 'flashiness' over well-roundedness. I bet Pierre would pick Drysdale 3rd, being a defenseman. |

selecting Drysdale would hurt the team more than help, they do not need D men they need wingers..OTT should not emulate EDM... |

If Ottawa's best pick is 3rd or 4th take Drysdale (best Dman available) and take the best forward available Stutzle, Rossi, Perfetti, Holtz or Raymond with their second pick.

I don’t get how ya can combine 2 picks together to get better odds winning first,
I been sitting here thinking and it makes 0 sense to me yeah we have 2 top 5 picks as of now but they can’t join them to get better chance winning first 🤦♂️
Not being an ass just a simple question that has been bothering me I’ve read this a few times now please explain 😬 |

Ottawa currently has two lottery picks. That means they have two chances that they win the lottery and pick first. Detroit, for example, only has one lottery chance.
DET's 1st currently has an 18.5% chance to pick first.
OTT's own 1st pick has an 11.5% chance to pick first.
OTT's pick from the Sharks has a 9.5% chance to pick first.
OTT's two chances give then a 21% chance they will win the lottery. |

It is entirely possible, although not very probable, that this happens.

At the beginning of the year, Raymond was ranked 3rd in this years draft. I was also really high on him in the beginning.
What happened though was everyone around him improved in some way. Holtz had a better showcase at the worlds and Stutzle WAS Germany at the worlds. Raymond was hurt/sick for that period, so his stock kinda dropped (though I’d still put him before Holtz).
I said earlier on that I think Raymond has the bests hands in this class (still do). He’s sort of like Marner in that department.
With Drysdale I’m 50/50 on. On one hand he’s one of the few dmen in this draft with star upside.
On the other hand..the class isn’t that strong with dmen compared to the class of 2021. So, is he being ranked higher because there’s so few dmen? In a class dominated by forwards?
I wouldn’t even put him in my current top 5 even though most analyst see him going in that 4-7 range |

i think it would be first time in NHL history a team drafted 1 and 2 by chance and not by specific trade of the 1st or 2nd pick at the draft. |

I am curious to see what the Sharks pick becomes. If the Senators use that pick to select a player, that player, for better or worse, will be forever linked to EK65 leaving Ottawa. |
